Tei Tei Robata Bar, located on Henderson Avenue, has been named one of the top 5 Japanese restaurants in Dallas! Tei Tei Robata Bar was founded by Teiichi Sakurai, a James Beard nominee. His first restaurant was Teppo on Lower Greenville Avenue (May 1995). Sakurai specialized in Yakitori charcoal grilled chicken skewers (a sensation at that time). In May of 1998, Sakurai decided to open Tei Tei. Katsutoshi Sakamoto, the current chef and owner, was brought on as executive chef.
The restaurant has specialized in grilled seafood and vegetables and was the first to bring “Washu beef on the rock” to Dallas from Japan. You are certain to find some of the freshest seafood in the city at this Henderson Avenue gem.
